Cheap Computer
Do you need a cheap computer? Maybe your old one broke down and you need one fast, or perhaps you just don't have much money now ...
Make a list of all the things you would like to do with your computer. Include the programs you will want to use and how much you will be on the computer. This will help you narrow down exactly how fast your processor should be, how much RAM you need, etc.
Dell typically has very low cost computers but still good. Celeron versus Pentium, less memory, less HD space, etc.
If you already have a monitor you can use, you can even go to Dell's outlet site and browse the computers they sell as just the tower. They will usually have better specifications but no monitor included. They may or may not also be "refurbished". All that means is that either it went out and was sent back for a minor problem like a blown fan, unseated memory, etc. that the new owner didn't want to deal with, or that it somehow made it out of the warehouse onto a truck and was cancelled before it got to it's destination. Once a PC leaves their dock that's it. If it comes back for any reason they mark it "refurbished". So that shouldn't deter you.
Go to eBay and search for keywords which you know you must have in your new computer. When you find cheap computers that interest you, investigate the seller by checking out their feedback and how many sales they have made on ebay. Choose only sellers with stellar reputations.
Try your local pawn shops. You never know what you'll find there. Call a few of them in advance of your visit and ask them if they have what you're looking for.
Post ads around town, looking for a cheap computer. Laundry places and grocery stores are the best locations.
Place cheap wanted ad in your local newspaper or nearby city.
